The Maru Maru is a beautiful 3-star hotel with a picturesque setting by the Indian Ocean. From the rooftop bar guests can take in stunning views of surrounding Stone Town. From here, visitors can take a short stroll to Stone Town Beach or Forodhani Gardens. Or for those who would like to explore a little farther afield, the hotel staff are happy to help arrange a trip to nearby Jozani Forest.
The elegant guestrooms are spacious, bright and inviting. Crisp white linens, air-con, four poster beds and complimentary WiFi ensure guests feel relaxed and at home in their surroundings. Start the day at the Fountain Restaurant with the tasty buffet breakfast. In the evening, enjoy a delicious meal there, or at the alternative Indian-style Terrace restaurant.

Loved the rooftop lounge and restaurant. The wait staff was fabulous Incredible sunsets over the Indian ocean. In fact all the staff were so friendly. The location in Stone town is perfect!
My electricity in my room went out 2 times in the middle of the night. Since the air conditioning would quit, I would wakeup very hot at 2 or 3am. This only happened a couple of times.

1.Fabulous staff (Fiona, Hitesh, Combo, Emanuel, and all others)
2.Excellent location - close to everything
3.Great view from the rooftop restaurant and bar with excellent food and drinks
4.Perfect bed, pillows and mattress (the most comfortable one I've ever slept on), high-quality furniture. Someone with a great artistic sense must have designed the guest rooms and bathrooms
5.Overall, I think this hotel was almost impeccable in every major category. The price was so competitive, too.
The only negative, which was easily tramped by all other positives, was the noise. You hear the music band at night, and there was also some sort of construction work in wee hours, which woke me up a few times... But because the hotel is situated in the heart of Stone Town, guests can not expect perfect quietness, I suppose.
How to book
Making your reservation in Maru Maru Hotel is easy and secure. Simply select your dates of stay and click on the “Check Rates” button to submit the form.
After room types and rates are returned to your screen, you will be able to choose the rate you desire by reading the room information in the center of the screen, then clicking on the "Book Now" button on the right side of the screen. After you have selected your desired room type, you will be taken to a "Complete your booking" form. Then you will need to review the "Details of your stay" and fill in the blanks on the "Guest Details" section. Be sure your name and email address are spelled correctly.
After you fill out all of the needed information, press the "Complete reservation" button. To ensure your security, we use a secure commerce server, which encrypts the credit card number and encodes it into a non-usable form.
